Management
Development Program at MITSOM
Revolution has just begun
Management students who pass out of the
colleges go in the search of fantastic jobs. Most of them also succeed
in getting their dream jobs but none of them ever think that they are
send on the battleground without having the armor of fraud fighting
tools. In the era of SOX and FCPA Compliance awareness about frauds and
corruption plays a vital role. Without the armor of anti-fraud tools
they are most likely to be the victims of fraud if not they are likely
to be the part of fraud either knowingly or unknowingly. We at
Indiaforensic realised that creating the awareness in the students at
the college level is the best option to make them fight the frauds.
Indiaforensic is an organisation with the social responsibility. In an
effort to create the awareness about the financial frauds in the
students Indiaforensic organised the event in association with the MIT
School of Management and Business. There were more than 350 students who
attended this historical program at MIT school of Management. MIT is the
first Business School in India which has actually dared to swim against
the stream. MIT is the first business school to offer the Management
Development Program on fighting frauds. Under the leadership of
Professor Mrs. Anjali Vamburkar this program was organised. Her vision
to create awareness on fraud fighting tools was the foundation of whole
concept. This event can be termed as the beginning of the Anti-fraud
movement. Four speakers from the diverse fields mentored the students
about fighting frauds. Shashank Karnad - Associate Director of KPMG
mentored students about the general trends in Fraud investigations, Mr.
S. Venkatesan - MD of Labsystems spoke about cyber forensics, Sanjay
Jagtap - Legal and Secretarial Head of Cummins India spoke about the
FCPA Compliance and Jayant Mavlankar - Timesgroup Management Assurance
Head spoke about the Risks in retail. I feel that the revolution has
begun and the next big thing to watch is whether Forensic Accounting can
be a part of the MBA program or can be taught in universities as an
elective subject. Mrs. Anjali Vamburkar has a big role to play in this
anti-fraud movement which has just started gathering the momentum in
India.
